Introducing the new Headphone Amp from Pass Labs!
Like the XP preamplifiers, the HPA-1 is designed with careful attention to detail.
The HPA-1 headphone amplifier was created from scratch to be one of the finest-sounding headphone amplifiers on the market today. Featuring low feedback, wide bandwidth, and a directly coupled MOSFET output stage, this musical instrument effortlessly powers even the most challenging headphone loads with strength and elegance. Additionally, the HPA-1 serves as a line-level preamplifier, competing sonically with much more expensive alternatives. Its measured performance is excellent, and the sound quality is even more impressive.
Beginning at the power cord, the AC line undergoes filtering to remove high-frequency noise, followed by isolation via a special toroidal transformer, which is shielded with mu-metal to reduce magnetic noise and equipped with a separate Faraday shield for electrostatic noise, grounded to the analog ground. Next, the setup includes fast/soft recovery rectifiers, extensive CRC passive filtering, advanced discrete DC regulators, and additional passive RC filters.
Compatible with headphones that have impedances ranging from 15 ohms to 600 ohms
Low feedback, wide bandwidth discrete design.
Class A direct-coupled Mosfet output stage
Custom low noise Toroidal power transformer featuring a Faraday shield
Discrete regulated power supply for audio circuits.
