I recently had the opportunity to test out the MS1-Galaxy earphones from Hidizs , and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed, it was nothing short of breathtaking. First off, the packaging is of excellent quality. Upon receiving the MS1-Galaxy, I was immediately captivated by its packaging. Unboxing these earphones is like unwrapping a present, creating an eager anticipation for the listening experience ahead. The earphones come in a sleek black/transparent design, with an option to choose between a cable with or without a microphone which adds a touch of customization to suit individual preferences. When you take that out of the box, the rest is underneath: the cable you selected (with or without microphone) in a plastic bag, and you're greeted with six silicone tips (one pair each of small, medium, and large sizes) in a small plastic bag. You also get a serial number and date card, a card with specs and a pretty manga image, and a bilingual instruction manual (English and Chinese languages) with assembling illustrations. No travel pouch is provided. Tech Highlights: At the heart of the MS1 Galaxy lies its innovative 10.2mm dual magnetic dynamic driver, featuring a PU+PEEK composite polymer diaphragm. This advanced diaphragm technology ensures cleaner sound reproduction, minimal distortion, uniform thickness, and enhanced sensitivity. With a sensitivity of 108 dB @1kHz and an impedance of 32Ω, the MS1 Galaxy effortlessly pairs with any portable audio player or dongle DAC seamlessly, making it a versatile choice for audiophiles on the go. Design: The MS1 Galaxy not only delivers on performance but also excels in aesthetics. Available in a range of vibrant colors including black, red, blue, and mixed variations with or without a microphone, it caters to diverse preferences. Crafted using high-density German Makrolon resin for the faceplates and shells, the earphones offer stability and comfort to the user. The injection molding technique employed in the manufacturing process lends a premium finish to the faceplates. Sporting a distinctive diamond-like design protected by resin, the faceplate provides a glimpse of the dynamic driver, 2-pin connector, and wires, adding to its visual appeal. The average-length nozzle, equipped with a nozzle lip, ensures a secure fit for the ear tips, eliminating any worries of slippage. Speaking of fit, these earphones nestle comfortably in the ears, guaranteeing hours of uninterrupted snug, and secure fit for listening pleasure. The cable is not pre-attached to the earpieces, and it's important to put things together properly, or else you won't get a good fit in the ear - instructions are provided for that. The cable has a Blue dot on the LEFT side and a Red dot on the RIGHT side (Red for right is a well-known convention in audio. The color of the other side varies). The cable is the correct way to loop around your ear as shown in the wearing guide. Need to attach the silicon tips also. The easiest to do is by turning the flexible part inside-out while attaching it and then flipping it back into place after it is seated. Try them all to see what works best in your ears. For good Bass response, they should seal well. According to my experience, for the best bass response, you can try to use foam bits. For example, I like tips from the Comply. The pièce de résistance – the sound quality of the MS1-Galaxy is simply mesmerizing. The MS1-Galaxy earphones deliver a truly remarkable audio experience. The sound is incredibly clear and deep, immersing you in your music like never before. It's like having diamonds in your ears, as the sound sparkles with clarity and depth. Sound Impressions: The low-frequency extension is excellent; There is a touch of extra sibilance at the top end but it's not severe. The overall frequency response is slightly V-shaped, with a bit of bass and treble emphasis, but again it's not nearly as pronounced as on some earbuds and it provides a good listening experience. Bass: The MS1 Galaxy delivers robust bass with considerable quantity, particularly in the mid-bass region, offering a satisfying thump. However, its emphasis on quantity compromises quality, resulting in a somewhat bloated and overpowering bass that occasionally masks vocals and instruments. Ideal for bass enthusiasts seeking a visceral experience. Mids: While the MS1 Galaxy's mids excel with male vocals, offering richness and natural timbre, its performance with female vocals is lacking. Female vocals sound thin, recessed, and artificial, with a veiled quality that detracts from the overall listening experience. The mids, overall, lack the forwardness needed to convey vocal nuances effectively. Treble: With the relaxed treble extension, the MS1 Galaxy provides a non-fatiguing listening experience, featuring adequate sparkle without excessive detail retrieval. While suitable for laid-back listening sessions, it may lack the finesse needed for intricate musical passages., missing the finesse needed for complete musical immersion. In summary, the H idizs MS1 Galaxy offers commendable comfort and a robust bass response but falls short in isolation and vocal reproduction, making it better suited for bass-heavy genres and casual listening rather than critical listening sessions or environments requiring noise isolation. Conclusion: Hidizs has once again raised the bar in the ultra-budget segment with their latest offering, the MS1 Galaxy, priced at a mere $25.99 SRP. While our tia™ high-driver remains the criterion in high-frequency performance, our new tia waveguide optimizes its efficiency while offering greater tuning control. The six low-mid and single high-mid balanced armature drivers carry through to Volür. Their implementation was re-engineered to maximize space while integrating 3D-printed acoustic tuning features. Hi-Res Audio Group Patreon Site Sound The isobaric low-drivers’ damping decreases low-frequency smear, lowering the noise floor to a darker background between notes and beats, allowing details to shine. This creates a more palpable impact, with subtle sub-bass information revealing the artist’s true intentions, and a full sound at low volumes. Mids maintain that signature rich quality; an almost tube-saturated presentation. Upper-mids enhance holographic center imaging that really shines with vocals. Our tia waveguide plays the biggest role in improving HF response since our invention of the direct-radiating driver; increasing clarity and stereo imaging. The outer shell remains the same size, while all significant structural changes occur internally. The faceplate now features a sleeker chamfer, seamlessly blending with the matte black-finished aluminum shell. The final cosmetic touch comes in the form of an homage to Nio: a dreamy purple abalone chip made from responsibly harvested New Zealand Paua shell. What is soon to be a new benchmark in acoustic delivery, Volür is capable of visceral bass while leaving room for the rest of the spectrum to shine. The saturated mids continue to evoke a similar analog warmth found in Nio, while the highs propel it into the territory of some of the most resolving audio products in the world. Our cone-to-magnet isobaric driver configuration consists of two drivers connected by an acoustically inert coupling chamber. One diaphragm is fully sealed off, while only the other contributes sound pressure. This complex application results in better damping, lower distortion, twice the power handling (because there are two coils and two motor structures), and extended LF response. With the iso-group wired in series, we worked with our suppliers to create a new 9mm dynamic driver with an upgraded n54 magnet and 25μm PU/115°C + 19μm Ti Cone to increase sensitivity. To further shape the sound, we used a high-precision textile mesh acoustic low-pass filter (originally developed for Fourté Blanc). The direct-radiating tia high-driver is fitted with our new tia waveguide to increase the efficiency and general amplitude of the HF band. In order to refine this HF response, special diffusion windows were integrated into the front and side of the waveguide. The tia waveguide also serves as a mounting mechanism, mating to the mid-driver housing, offering exact driver positioning during manufacturing. Tubeless In-Ear Audio is a patented IEM design methodology that aims to reduce unwanted resonance and distortion for a transparent and lifelike sound signature. The tia system consists of three major elements: open-balanced armature tia drivers, the tia single-bore design, and tia acoustic chambers. Volür features two major elements of the tia system: the tia driver and the tia single-bore design.
Air Pressure Exchange is a patented vent that releases air pressure in a sealed ear canal all while retaining standard IEM levels of isolation, enabling musicians and music enthusiasts to listen more comfortably for longer. This venting alleviates listener fatigue and allows for a much more realistic soundstage. Apex comes in four module variations for Volür: mX, *m12, m15, and m20. While it looks similar to many of our UIEMs, the internal construction of the Apex system is redesigned to maximize space for the LF bore incorporated into the mid-driver housing.
Linear Impedance Design (LID) is a patented circuit that corrects the non-linear electrical resistance of the multiple driver sets comprising this 10-driver IEM. Varying source amplifier output impedance in devices like smartphones, body packs, DAC/amps, and DAPs typically results in varying frequency response, depending on the increase in resistance. Restoring proper interaction with the source and preserving the desired sound signature enables a consistent reliable sound. Power to spare
The core of the Relentless Amplifiers’ power supply is a transformer that uses multiple sections running in concert, all potted and encased in a metal shield. This design reduces transformer noise to near zero and protects the audio circuitry from the transformer’s magnetic field. A special holder mechanically grounds each capacitor eliminating vibrations.
With its nearly four-kilowatt transformer and 400,000 F capacitance power supply feeding 84 output devices, the Relentless 800 easily delivers 800 watts into 8 ohms—and when connected to a 220-volt outlet, doubles its output to 1,600 watts into 4 ohms and 3,200 watts into 2 ohms.

The Design
The Relentless 800 employs an all-new, fully complementary design based around a precision input stage that maintains an essentially perfect balance between the positive and negative components of the signal. Any distortion artifacts that appear on one half of the signal will also appear on the other half, and thus cancel each other. Gain circuits operate in the current domain, assuring the amplifiers’ performance does not fluctuate regardless of the speaker demand. In the Relentless 800 amplifiers, new input stage devices deliver a 300% increase in current as compared to the previous devices. These wider bandwidths and higher power components extend low and high-frequency performance with reduced distortion in both frequency extremes. Global negative feedback is not employed, nor is it required as the amplifiers’ open-loop linearity eliminates the need for this performance-robbing technique.
Activating the reimagined driver stage is a new bias stability circuit providing a nearly 50% increase in operating bias. Increasing Class A operation directly correlates to better sound quality. With this new circuit topology and the unique Copper/Aluminum heatsinks, thermal issues are irrelevant in the Relentless 800 amplifier. The new scheme ensures bias consistency, preventing excessive temperatures even under the greatest demand.
A critical element of any amplifier output topology is the driver section. In the new Relentless 800 amplifiers, the driver transistor has been upgraded to a new device that handles 33% more power per device. Additionally, the driver transistor count has doubled thus minimizing demand on each individual device and lowering overall amplifier output impedance without resorting to global negative feedback. Individual transistors are used for the positive and negative signal elements in an inter-digitated complementary arrangement. This nearly doubles the current drive necessary to maximize the enhanced output stage that follows.
Super Rails
Super Rail employs higher voltage rails in the sections prior to the output stage, effectively “turbocharging” the amplifier and exploiting the full capability of the output voltage rails—which improves dynamics, lowers distortion, and tightens the amplifiers’ electrical grip on the speaker.
The output stage features the same new transistor as in the driver section for sonic and technical consistency. Individual complementary pairs undergo our transistor matching protocol to ensure that gain linearity is virtually identical from 50mA to 5A. Additionally, every one of the 84 output transistors used is measured and only devices that match the required performance specifications are included in the production of Relentless 800 amplifiers. The high-output transistors used in the Relentless 800 are among the fastest available. These high-powered transistors mount with two stainless steel fasteners—a rarity among ﬂat-package transistors—for maximum thermal transfer to the copper heat sinks. A capacitor/resistor network connected to the base of each transistor guarantees stability even at high frequencies and with low-impedance speakers. As with all D'Agostino models, the Relentless 800 amplifiers feature discrete, direct-coupled balanced circuitry - the most accurate circuit platform possible.
Elegantly Functional
The Relentless 800 Amplifier’s unique heat sink combines copper and aluminum in a thermal engine that wicks away heat from the connected devices. The elaborate elliptical design expands on the venturi heat sink first explored in the Momentum series and makes certain that the Relentless amplifiers run safely and reliably even when delivering their full-rated power. Thermal, short circuit and DC protection are included in a non-invasive but comprehensive defense against any external system faults.
The entire chassis of the Relentless 800 amplifiers is machined from solid aluminum, for superior shielding, thermal stability, and vibration damping. High-precision milling allows the entire chassis to fit together solidly with no visible fasteners. Specs:

tia™ - The Story of Tubeless In-Ear Audio is an article that delves into the development and innovation behind 64 Audio TIA (tubeless in-ear audio) technology. 64 Audio Fourth Patent In July 2020, after three years, 64 Audio was awarded its fourth patent for our groundbreaking technology dubbed TIA, which stands for tubeless in-ear audio. U.S. Patent #US10721549B2 was issued on July 21st, 2020 for the implementation of direct radiating drivers in microacoustic chambers. The Beginning The story of Tia is Fourté's story. In order to transmit sound from the driver's spout to the end of the IEM canal, balanced armature drivers (BA) must traditionally be mounted on a vinyl tube. Knowing that this tube has always had a detrimental impact on the drivers' natural, uncolored sound, the first step was to remove the tube to test if the BA performed more naturally—like a large-scale speaker, which doesn't use tubes in this application. tia™ Driver A positive result from eliminating the tube prompted 64 Audio’s R&D team to press into unlocking more of the potential of these BA drivers, quickly turning into a BA with an exposed/open face. Before sourcing what is now known as the Tia Driver, we initially cut the drivers open ourselves to test this; sometimes even sanding the side of the drivers off to expose the diaphragm. The results astounded the team and this open-face balanced armature driver was here to stay. To see how these new drivers behaved in an earphone they were placed in various positions within an empty IEM shell. Upon first listen, although far from perfect, it had interesting sonic qualities that were obviously going to turn into something revolutionary. The initial step involved eliminating a tube component from the design, which yielded a positive outcome. This success encouraged 64 Audio's R&D team to further explore the potential of the balanced armature drivers. Open-Face Balanced Armature Driver The team proceeded to experiment with the balanced armature drivers by transitioning to an "open-face" design. In order to assess the behavior of the new drivers, they were placed in various positions within an empty IEM shell. This was done to evaluate how the driver's position within the housing affected the sound quality and overall performance. The drivers were experimented with extensively, even undergoing processes like cutting and sanding to expose the diaphragm, indicating a rigorous testing phase. Despite not being perfect initially, the open-face balanced armature driver showcased interesting sonic qualities. These unique sonic attributes have the potential for revolutionary changes in the field of IEMs, suggesting that the new technology had the capability to significantly enhance the listening experience. From The Shell To The Canal The high-frequency Tia driver was initially positioned entirely outside of the ear canal based on our understanding of IEM pinna correction. The potential beauty of having open drivers in an open shell without tubes or dampers was highlighted, despite the fact that this swiftly changed. However, we shifted this Tia driver to boost the high-frequency (HF) extension and found that the extension and HF clarity improved with increasing distance from the canal stem. The objective was to get closer, to the point where the Tia high-driver got stuck in the IEM's canal or stem. This was a bittersweet finding because it exposed us to a wide range of production issues and potential manufacturing barriers, but the benefits outweighed the problems. Tia Acoustic Chambers It's fascinating to learn about the research and development process behind the design of the headphones. The team encountered a dip in the frequency spectrum around 3khz-6khz and found that the mid-Tia driver lost some extension in the lower treble due to its open and further back position in the shell. However, the team was determined to maximize the power of this larger Tia driver in the mids. Through experimenting with different enclosures and structures within the shell, the team discovered that a small wall structure placed directly in front of the low-mid Tia driver's diaphragm yielded positive results. This wall acted as a divider within the shell between the Tia low-mid and dynamic low driver. Interestingly, controlling the gap between the top of the wall and the back of the faceplate allowed the team to find a sweet spot that extended the response of the Tia low-mid driver from 3khz to about 5khz. One key aspect of this patent is the use of the shell, as well as the air inside the shell, as the transport medium for the sound waves. Unlike traditional designs that use tubes or the air inside those tubes, the acoustical impedance is derived directly from the shell itself. The structures, chambers, and air volume within the shell play a crucial role in shaping the frequency response of the headphones. Tubeless BA Driver Even with the positive results in the high-mid band, the upper mid/lower treble was still lacking between 2khz-6khz. An additional high-mid driver was required, to sit between the Tia Low-mid and Tia High drivers. Sourcing a fully open version of this very fragile high-mid BA wasn’t possible at the time, so it was implemented within the shell in its standard form; sound radiating from a spout but still radiating into the shell without the use of a tube. The design was finalized with two fully open Tia drivers, low-mid and tweeter, a tubeless upper-mid BA driver, and a tubeless dynamic driver for the low-frequency band. [Source: tia™ blog 64 Audio ]

Alexx V Elements Process of Handcrafting Alexx V Gantry Floor-Standing Loudspeakers Alexx V Elements Wilson's engineering team went through each of the critical sub-systems found in the Alexx® and upgraded, or re-engineered, many of its components. Here are some highlights: All X-Material enclosures with V-Material nested in strategic locations (top of the woofer, in gantry cross-brace, and in the new Wilson Audio Acoustic Diode™ Spike). Vibration control and upper module isolation akin to what is found in the Chronosonic XVX provide amazing settling between the notes. There have been several crossover changes. With fewer components now in the signal path we fine-tuned and modified the system for better Impedance and Sensitivity measurements— From a minimum impedance measurement of 1.5 ohms (Alexx) to 2.0 ohms (Alexx V) and +1dB more sensitive than Alexx Series 1. Wilson Audio Acoustic Diodes Introducing the Wilson Audio Acoustic Diode. An all-new spike system launched with Alexx V, which has been completely upgraded from our standard spike system, and features a novel combination of austenitic stainless steel and V-Material. This coupling system was created by Wilson Audio’s Special Applications Engineering® (WASAE) division and has superlative vibration management that reveals far greater dynamic nuances across the entire frequency spectrum. Process of Handcrafting Alexx V Gantry Alexx V is an extraordinarily adaptable design. Carrying over elements from its larger siblings, such as the XLF reversible woofer port and independently adjustable modules, allow this system to be elegantly tailored to your listening room. These tools built into the DNA of Alexx V allow for greater ease of installation into a wider variety of listening spaces, thus permitting the listener to truly experience the depth and ability of this system. Gantry The open architecture gantry first launched with WAMM Master Chronosonic, followed by Chronosonic XVX, has now found a home with Alexx V. Not only does this benefit the overall appearance of the loudspeaker, but critically, it also enhances the overall rigidity of the entire upper module section and minimizes pressure trapped behind the enclosures, resulting in greater fidelity. Easier access to the upper modules makes for quicker adjustments. Similar to our innovative lighting solution (Sono 1™ from Coolfall® ) featured in Chronosonic XVX, Alexx V has an illuminated cross brace at the rear of the gantry, which aids in speaker module setup and time-alignment fine-tuning. Wilson Audio Acoustic Diode The Wilson Audio Acoustic Diode Building upon the research and development of Pedestal, the Special Applications Engineering Team is excited to announce the Wilson Audio Acoustic Diode™ (AD Spike for short). At the heart of the Acoustic Diode is our proprietary “V-Material.” This superior constrained layer-damping composite is unsurpassed in vibration absorption and resonance control. Energy from the enclosure migrates into the V-Material where it is faced with the effective damping properties of this efficient material. The mass of the loudspeaker concentrated onto the very small ends of the spike tips results in significant levels of PSI that prevent detrimental vibrations from traveling upward into the footer. Those vibrations that do travel up the spike are absorbed by the mass of the Acoustic Diode and have to travel through the V-Material to have a chance to influence the enclosure. Keeping the spike and threaded post separate prevents a direct path for vibrations to travel, or interplay, and are therefore dissipated and absorbed in either the V-Material or the footer housing. This distinctive design, combined with advanced vibration-mitigating materials, provides the best of both worlds; a solid base from which the drivers can launch as well as preventing the transmission of energy from the floor to the loudspeakers.
